Veridian Credit Union | Diversity Employer
What does it mean to belong to Veridian? We are a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our philosophy of "People Helping People" is as much a core value for Veridian Credit Union today as in 1934.
As a credit union, we're organized differently than other financials.
As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Veridian is owned by the people who use our products and services – our members. Earnings are returned to our members through better rates and lower fees. Members also democratically elect their fellow members to serve as unpaid volunteers on our Board of Directors. This helps ensure that decisions at the highest level are made in the interest of our members.
We're also a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), as certified by the U.S. Treasury. CDFIs are financial institutions that share a common goal to expand economic opportunities in low-income communities and demonstrate a mission to promote community development, provide both financial and educational services, and show accountability to underserved markets.
