Overview

How you can make a difference

The Chief Data Officer will be the enterprise leader responsible for defining and executing the company's data vision, strategy, and governance framework. This role will oversee Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, data engineering, and analytics to ensure the organization's data assets are trusted, secure, accessible, and leveraged for competitive advantage. The CDO will drive responsible adoption of Generative AI (GenAI) and agentic AI to reimagine customer experience, operational efficiency, and product innovation. The CDO will partner with the executive team to transform data into a strategic asset-fueling decision-making, operational efficiency, customer experience, and innovation.

What you'll be doing

Enterprise Data Strategy & Leadership

    Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise data strategy that aligns with corporate goals and drives measurable business value.
  • Establish data as a critical corporate asset, ensuring consistency, security, and accessibility across the enterprise.
  • Drive adoption of data-first culture by embedding data literacy and analytics into business decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary data strategist, providing insight into trends, risks, and opportunities.

Master Data Management & Governance

  • Own the enterprise MDM strategy, ensuring single sources of truth for customer, product, financial, and operational data domains.
  • Lead the design and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and stewardship models across all functions.
  • Implement robust data quality management processes, driving accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of enterprise data.
  • Define data ownership and accountability across business units, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).

Data Engineering & Architecture

  • Oversee enterprise data engineering, architecture, and integration platforms to enable scalability and agility.
  • Build and maintain secure, high-performance data platforms, warehouses, and lakes to support analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
  • Drive implementation of data platforms (warehouses, lakes, streaming, MDM) and partner with the Innovation team to integrate GenAI platforms, LLMs, and agentic AI frameworks into enterprise operations.
  • Drive modernization of data infrastructure, including migration to cloud-native and real-time data processing environments.
  • Ensure interoperability between data systems, APIs, and enterprise applications.

Analytics, AI, & Business Enablement

  • Partner with business leaders to enable advanced analytics, AI, and predictive modeling capabilities.
  • Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions that improve decision-making, customer experience, and operational outcomes.
  • Deliver enterprise-wide reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics tools.
  • Establish KPIs for data-driven initiatives to measure adoption, impact, and ROI.

Risk, Compliance, & Security

  • Collaborate with the CSO and legal/compliance teams to ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee incident response protocols for data breaches or quality failures.
  • Proactively partner to manage risks associated with third-party data providers and platforms.

Organizational Leadership

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global data organization encompassing data engineering, architecture, governance, analytics.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between technology, operations, and business teams to maximize the value of enterprise data assets.
  • Develop internal career pathways and succession plans for data talent.

What you will need to be successful

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in data strategy, governance, and engineering, with 8+ years in an executive capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in data science, information systems, or business preferred.
  • Proven track record in MDM implementation, enterprise data architecture, and governance programs.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience leading data transformation at scale in complex, global organizations.
  • Demonstrated success enabling analytics, AI/ML, and advanced decision-support capabilities with direct experience in Generative AI and agentic AI applications.
  • Deep knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, with Board and C-suite presence.

Salary Range

$219500.00 To $374000.00 / year

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
