We are currently seeking a Property Accounting and Finance Manager who is adaptable and functions at a high level in a fast-paced work environment. This is an onsite role in San Francisco supporting our ultra luxury commercial real estate client.
The Property Accounting and Finance manager is responsible for overseeing financial planning and accounting & reporting functions for three commercial office buildings including one trophy status building. What this job involves? Financial Planning and Accounting Lead a broad range of financial planning, process engineering and analytical initiatives including capital planning cycles, trend and value analyses, and metrics reporting Manage comprehensive iterative process with strong controls for capital program, including spend forecasts and variance tracking; ensure accuracy and consistency between annual, quarterly and monthly capex reporting processes Responsible for timely, accurate management of accounting calendar including monthly, quarterly and year end deliverables Prepare and distribute monthly/quarterly financial reports - prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries, financial statement preparation and bank reconciliations within stated controls and client reporting requirements. Gain a complete understanding of the internal accounting requirements as well as work to ensure requirements are met as established by the client. Oversee internal and external audits and coordinate with various departments on requirements. Operate autonomously in a leadership role Oversee bank reconciliations, cash management for loan servicing, disbursement processing and external reporting. Oversee and coordinate Accounts Payable process and review invoice coding and approvals and ensure compliance with all appropriate controls that are in place. Lead annual budget preparation - compile key assumptions and capital budget information, review for reasonableness and ensure timely and accurate entry into the accounting system. Lead annual year-end reconciliation process and the preparation, calculation and review of the year-end reconciliation process. Ensure all adjustments are billed timely and correctly per lease requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or economics; CPA preferred but not required. 10+ years of Commercial Real Estate Accounting experience required, 3+ years as people manager preferred Yardi experience required Advanced Excel. Easy, eager adaptation to new tools and systems. Kardin experience preferred. Work 5 days per week in the office Ability to work at a high level in a fast-paced and demanding work environment Strong accounting skills and solid understanding of accounting and real estate principles Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills Proactive, creative problem-solving skills, driven by commitment to client service |
