2nd shift - Monday-Friday Or 3rd shift - Tuesday-Saturday Summary Statement: This position is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the daily and weekly activities within the Intake area. This position must monitor specific areas of the Conversion Department, assess process needs, and take appropriate steps to address the needs. This person will manage a team of intake operators and controls while coordinating the incoming milk, cream, oil, etc. While coordinating this process, this person will aim to achieve the KPI's set by the Plant Manager in terms of safety, quality, cost, and delivery. The Intake Team Leader must demonstrate leadership ability, exceptional interpersonal skills, clear oral and written communication skills, and a strong working knowledge of plant production process policies. This employee must be flexible and able to work extended hours to provide plant coverage whenever necessary. Primary Role and Responsibilities:
- Understands the manufacturing processes and interactions between the different processing functions and recognizes optimization potentials
- Ensure communication with milk suppliers is consistent and accurate when milk receival is delayed
- Organize operators according to organizational needs considering specific job requirements, individual competencies and cost
- Responsible for the Ultra-filtration system including filter changing, operation, sanitation, and period work
- Responsible for CIP Non-fat dry milk process on the 2nd floor
- Complete documentation properly such as weight slips and bills of lading
- Perform required tests associated with raw materials
- Facilitates the use of reliefs during breaks for the individual processing jobs and act as a relief when necessary
- Initiates corrective actions as appropriate and inform Managers of any deviation/variation from production plan, quality, safety, and cost goals
- Ensures the rules of safety, product quality, hygiene (GMP, HACCP, and ISO) are followed
- Identifies training needs of operators and participate in the development of training initiatives (cross-training)
- Ensures all production data is entered and correctly followed up on
- Ensures the safety of all employees working in or around area of responsibility
- Addresses and resolves all issues within the area
- Participates in start-up and hand-off meetings at the start and end of shift
- Ensures all intake equipment as well as facilities are properly cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis in accordance with Kraft Heinz Sanitation Procedures and Quality Expectation Standards
- Communicates and resolves shift emergencies when appropriate (i.e. call-ins, safety issues)
- Provides feedback to fellow employees with follow-up regarding all aspects of the cream cheese process
- Ensures compliance to all plant rules and policies
- Support plant Quality Systems
- Actively participates in the continuous improvement process
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Additional Education/Certification/Skills:
- English Language Skills - Able to speak, read, and write
- Must be able to pass and obtain the State of Wisconsin Bulk Milk Weigher Sampling License
- Must be able to pass and obtain State of Wisconsin Milk, Food and Water Analyst Certification
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years in manufacturing environment (preferably in the cheese/dairy industry)
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of cream cheese technology and manufacturing processes
- Solid understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
- Good understanding of manufacturing cost aspects

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds per NIOSH lifting equation and utilize plant approved safe lifting practices for over 50 pounds

- Advanced computer skills with knowledge of various software programs to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others
- Must have demonstrated experience in leading people
