The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Operations Analyst II - Revenue Cycle (Billing).

The Operations Analyst II-Revenue Cycle monitors and documents internal workflow and processes regarding patient billing and payments. Maintains profiles in the Patient Accounting systems. Provides ongoing analysis of reports to identify opportunities to improve processes and resolve issues regarding the timely submission of patient accounts through the bill production and collection cycle. Obtains current knowledge of regulations and policies of Federal, State, and third-party payers, Educates end users of changes and such updates, and of correct system processes. Manages departmental projects and technology.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Reviews weekly reports to identify issues affecting the timely resolution of patient accounts for billing/claims and payment/remits.
  • Identifies opportunities and resolves most issues independently to improve system processes.
  • Discusses user issues with Centralized Business Offices to work with external vendors to resolve any issues affecting the timely claim submission and remit retrieval processes.
  • Assists the team in resolving tickets opened by UHS internal customers and opening cases with UHS external vendors.
  • Maintains rules within the patient accounting systems including, but not limited to, requiring custom edits or bridge routines, resolving claim errors, locating missing files.
  • Documents processes and workflows regarding claim submission, payer edits, claim rejections, and payments/EOBs.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • An Associate Degree is required; however, significant (5+ relevant) years of experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • The successful candidate should have a minimum of three to five years functional knowledge of the revenue cycle operations to include, but not limited to, scheduling/registration, billing, collections, payment/adjustment posting, credit balance/refunds, statements, bad debt write offs, collections processes and reporting.
  • Knowledge of UB04/837I, 1500/837P, and 835s/EOBs desired.
  • Skill set should include professional written and verbal communication skills as well as proficiencies in Visio, Microsoft EXCEL and WORD.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and multitask is required.
  • Intermediate logical deduction skills and the ability to solve most problems independently are required.
