At HDR, our employee-owners are fully engaged in creating a welcoming environment where each of us is valued and respected, a place where everyone is empowered to bring their authentic selves and novel ideas to work every day. As we work to weave diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and foster a sense of belonging throughout the company and within our communities, we constantly ask ourselves: What is our impact on the world? HDR is looking for an experienced practitioner in fisheries engineering and eco hydraulics to be a part of our thriving team in the Northwest area. This is an opportunity to join an established, highly successful team already solving the most challenging fisheries science engineering work throughout the Northwest and Intermountain West. Key responsibilities include developing client relationships, identifying project opportunities, winning consulting contracts, and delivering successful projects. This professional should be able to perform technical work, mentor junior staff, build teams, collaborate with fisheries professionals across HDR, and manage projects with high degree of technical complexity. The candidate will be involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently, while collaborating with our regional and national fisheries business class and water business group leadership. This position offers additional opportunities for travel and working within other regions of practice across Idaho and the United States. Our fisheries team focuses on a broad range of challenging projects related to fisheries science, eco hydraulics, and fish culture disciplines including, but not limited to: hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; natural barrier assessments and modification; technical fish passage and fishways; water crossing and aquatic organism passage; nature-like fishways; fish protection at surface water diversions; river mechanics, scour countermeasures, and erosion mitigation; stream restoration planning and natural channel design; habitat design; dam modification and removal; and opportunities to work on all project phases from master planning, design, and construction of fish hatcheries and aquaculture systems.
