POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for the procurement of raw material components through established vendors by executing day to day activities such as (but not limited to) reviewing MRP, entering purchase orders, confirming delivery, expediting orders, coordinating with Transportation, support Production Control, support Sourcing managers as well as other cross functional department. DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the procurement of raw material components through established vendors.
- Execute MRP Exception messages in SAP, including PO creation, push out and pull in PO confirmation
- Follow up on PO delivery to ensure on time delivery or/and expedite when needed.
- Collaboration with Production Planning on supplier delivery or issues or Terminal shortages.
- Share forecast with suppliers.
- Maintain Material master data.
- Back-up purchasing staff as needed.
- Provide support to other departments for any special order requirements.
- Work closely with Transportation to ensure delivery on time to the plants or customer
- Support A/P process for on time payment to suppliers
- In case of NCR (Non Conformance Report), liaison between the vendors and Production to ensure continuous supply.
- In case of CAR (Corrective Action Request), support the sourcing Managers with information if required
- Support departmental KPI Goals (e.g. but not limited to invoices issues, open order report)
- Assist Sourcing Managers in preparation of Supplier Performance Ratings.
- Actively Involve in the supplier BRM (Business Review Meeting) preparation with the sourcing Manager
- Support the sourcing Managers with cost savings Initiative (e.g. but not limited to: with raw material information, phase in/Phase out analysis, etc)
- Support the Sourcing Managers with commodity strategy.
- Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Support continuous improvement projects in Purchasing.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelors Degree in Business or related field.
- 1-3 years of Purchasing (or equivalent) experience required.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment a plus.
- SAP experience a plus.
- Microsoft knowledge (Excel specifically) required.
- Proactive interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- A team player with the ability to maintain a highly professional demeanor.
- Partner with all functions of the organization as well as the outside business contacts.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
