The Production Supervisor oversees several areas including but not limited to Press, Slitting, Extrusion, Lamination, Ink and Warehouse. Balances safety, quality, and productivity to achieve goals in all areas. Plans and assigns work and provides coaching to crew members. Resolves employee performance issues through problem resolution and input from Human Resources. Drives continuous improvement activities and makes recommendations for improvement.

This is a night shift opportunity Monday - Friday, 8:45PM - 5:15AM with some flexibility depending on business needs.

Compensation ranges between $70K and $85k, with bonus eligibility.


Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:




  • Enforces all plant and department safety rules. Facilitates monthly safety training and performs accident investigations per site procedure.
  • Provides daily work assignments to team members so they have clear expectations for the day.
  • Manages daily objectives to achieve production, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Conducts hourly review of machine performance ensuring barriers are identified if machines are not running to standard.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves process, equipment, and material issues in conjunction with support personnel.
  • Notifies and works with Maintenance on needed repairs on all production equipment.
  • Manages shift performance and reports shift results; utilizes shift exchange tools to communicate to oncoming Supervisor.
  • Provides training and follow-up on department personnel to see that they are performing their jobs in accordance with their job descriptions. Provides daily/weekly coaching to improve employee's effectiveness.
  • Ensures new employees receive proper training to safety and efficiently perform job function.
  • Enforces all plant policies and procedures.
  • Audits quality, safety, and environmental housekeeping procedures.
  • Utilizes timekeeping system to approve timecards, vacation, PTO and other related items.
  • Conducts performance reviews on all hourly team members.
  • Motivates co-workers and subordinates to participate in team effort.
  • Acts as a positive role model for other production employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience: demonstrated ability to lead and motivate subordinates to achieve common goals through team effort.
  • General knowledge of operations and plant machinery.
  • Mechanical aptitude and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4-year degree preferred.
  • Equivalent job specific work experience required.
