Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for and oversees all production related initiatives and issues in the plant for year-round value-added production.The successful candidate will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and will have a demonstrated history of leading successful teams.A keen sense of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence are also critical to ongoing success at Trident.Seafood experience and a complete working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and other safety and quality systems are vital to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of productions and scheduled delivery dates.
• Supports Safety Pillar to ensure safety of associates and continuous improvement of safety practices and procedures.
• Works with Scheduler to coordinate operations, establishes priorities and sequences for products.
• Prepares operational staffing schedules and coordinates activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
• Reviews production and operating reports and uses root cause and data analysis to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Partners with the Operational Excellence Manager for creative problem solving and fostering an environment of continuous improvement. Executes through engagement and support of Daily Management Pillar and Focused Improvement Pillar.
• Supervises, trains, and coaches team members, supervisors, leads and forepersons.
• Develops and modifies training programs with support of Continuous Skills Development pillar.
• Partner with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, evaluations and corrective counseling.
• Confirms line operations are implemented to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and that an ongoing process of continuous improvement (CI) is foundational.
• Ensures products conform to specification and meet all food safety and quality (FSQA) requirements while working closely with Food Safety Quality Assurance. Prioritizes Good Manufacturing Practices with team members and supports Seafood HACCP program.
• Partners with Assistant Plant Manager to manage Production budget while maintaining production supply inventory.
• Works with maintenance team to achieve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) goals.
• Ensures all of the above is executed on any scheduled production shift by engaging and empowering shift supervisors.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
• All other duties as assigned

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $85,000to $105,000.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a production supervisor
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Computer proficient including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in Seafood industry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management
• 3 years of experience as a Production Manager in food industry
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
• Continuous Improvement Experience through Kaizens and/or TPM
• Certified Seafood HACCP
