This position is responsible for monitoring all E2 Optics and customer safety programs throughout the field operations onsite for a specific construction project to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Coaches employees on all safety rules and regulations.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promotes company Core Values to foster and safeguard family-centric culture.
  • Provides input for safety and health considerations and assists in establishing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Formal notification to field operations and staff for relevant H&S process changes and requirements.
  • Assists the Safety Manager with incident/accident investigations and subsequent documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities and support Lean initiatives across the site to align with corporate strategic goals.
  • Organize and collect project support documents from field personnel including permits, PTPs, AHAs, etc.
  • Assists the Safety Manager with orientation for new employees.
  • Track, trend and drive structured problem solving for recurring safety issues that prohibit realization of performance targets.
  • Practice team member engagement by coaching, encouragement and guidance that drives behavior-based safety and fosters an overall safety awareness culture.
  • Leads by example by exemplifying safety and professionalism on the job site.
  • Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
  • Travel: There is no required travel for this role outside of commute to the site.
Education:
  • High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree is preferred
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction, OSHA 30-Hour Construction preferred
Experience:
  • 1-3 years administrative experience or Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a construction environment.
  • Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, safety training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to positively influence and encourage others.

  • Self-motivated and excellent work ethics.

  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills, including excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) and MS Project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
