What you will need:
Education: Bachelor's degree with 28 semester hours of combined biology and chemistry and 3 semester hours of mathematics or statistics AND successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP accredited Cytotechnology program. Certification: Cytotechnologist, CT (ASCP) certification or eligible. Those certified after January 1, 2006 will be required to demonstrate evidence of ongoing maintenance of certification. Experience: Must be a recent Cytotechnolgy graduate or have recent Hospital-based experience. Skills: Essential Functions: Must have recent cytopreparation experience and Fine Needle Aspiration Adequacy Assessment experience. Must have recent Gynecologic, Non-gynecologic and Fine Needle Aspiration evaluation experience. ThinPrep certification required. Ability to accurately describe cytologic conditions and provide appropriate differential diagnoses in writing. Requires experience using databases, spreadsheets, and word-processing software. Must possess good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes. Must have adequate use of both hands. Must have normal vision and be able to distinguish color. Must be able to operate clinical instrumentation. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to handle patient contact. Must be able to travel to all Hospital locations within the Endeavor Health system (listed). What you will do: Under the direction of the Medical Director and Section Manager, Cytotechnologists are responsible for the evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological cases, evaluation and interpretation of abnormal gynecological, non-gynecological and fine needle aspiration cases. Cytotechnologist are responsible for identifying diagnostic material and referring cases to the pathologists appropriately. Serve as a member of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) team providing on site adequacy evaluation of FNA procedures. Provide technical advice and perform cytopreparation and processing as needed. Must maintain records of screening slide counts and other activities. Maintain Quality Control records where indicated. Assist cytology management in gathering data relevant to quality assurance activities, continuous improvement activities and/or other special projects. Benefits:
