Job Summary Under general direction, conducts quality flight instruction required in the professional pilot programs at Saint Louis University.Participates in standardization training for each course that is taught and piece of equipment used in instruction; maintains flight proficiency for each course that is instructed; adheres to all FAA regulations and departmental policies and procedures; researches new and improved teaching techniques. Job Duties and Responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The selected candidate will be hired into the job level to which their training/certification applies. Level I Flight Instructor: CFI - the basic CFI certificate is required. Certified Flight Instructor - Airplane (CFI) required;CFII/MEIcertificate preferred; bachelor's degree preferred. Can perform flight training in a single engine aircraft. Valid medical certificate required. Level II Flight Instructor: All of the above. * CFII - must have the CFII rating when hired or has earned the rating while employed; can perform Instrument Rating flight training. Salary/Benefits: Salary for Flight Instructor LevelI ($40,000), Level II ($44,000) plus benefits including vacation and sick leave, health/dental/vision/life insurance, 403B retirement savings plan and match, tuition remission, employee assistance program and wellness program.
