JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: TheEvidence-to-Impact Collaborativewithin the Social Science Research Institute at Penn State University, University Park,isseekingapplicants to direct the PSU Administrative Data Accelerator. The Data Accelerator works across the university and with external partners to leveragegovernment,industry, andpractice datato advance the impact of applied computational social sciencesonhealth and society.At its core, the Data Accelerator seeks to make science more impactful by increasing the use of data produced by the very systems we seek to improve (e.g., healthcare, criminal justice, child welfare, labor market, etc.) This Director-level position will oversee unit operations and have the opportunity to lead an interdisciplinary group focused on improving research operations and conducting impactful science. Education and Experience: Candidates should have aterminaldegree at the time of hire in relevant areas of study (SocialSciences, Public Administration, or Information Sciences) (PhD)or Data Sciences(MS). Those applying withterminal master'sdegreesinthedata sciences should haveat least 3 years of applied experiencewithadministrative data. We are particularly interested in candidates withexperience using administrative data and interest in improving research infrastructure.This includes leadership inoverseeing the management of sensitive data assets,incollaboration withpartners conducting interdisciplinary research. The successful candidate for this role will be a self-directed, creative thinker who is able to strategically plan, build consensus,and problem solve to move work forward.
