Work Arrangement:On-Site Facility: University Hospital - 1 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO * Base Pay Range: $27.21 - $42.99 per hour, based on experience ABOUT THE JOB The Biomedical Equipment Technician III leads advanced technical support activities, preventive maintenance, and high-level troubleshooting for complex medical equipment and integrated systems. Manages installations and projects, oversees safety inspections, and provides mentorship to junior technicians. Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION * Leads troubleshooting and technical support for medical equipment users to determine root causes of failure. * Establishes standards and protocols for test methods and equipment performance criteria. * Manages calibration and maintenance of complex medical equipment systems to meet or exceed regulatory standards. * Oversees and performs safety inspections and initiates required services forhigh-risk equipment. * Manages system installations, including planning, scheduling, and oversight of contractors and vendors. * Oversees asset management, including scheduling maintenance and tracking parts inventory. * Assists in the investigation and documentation of incidents involving medical equipment. * Documents work performed in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to maintain accurate service records. * Performs cross-functional project management duties in collaboration with department managers, vendors, and contractors. * May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Associate's degree (or equivalent credit hours) in biomedical equipment technology, electronics, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. * Seven (7) years of experience as a biomedical equipment technician or radiology equipment specialist. * Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) may substitute for one year of required experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in a related technical field. * Experience managing large-scale equipment installations or integration projects. * Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). * Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
