KLDiscovery, one of the largest national eDiscovery providers, is currently seeking aData Center MaintenanceOperations Technicianto support our corporate business systemsacross allglobalsitescompanywide.

The position will report to theManagerof Data Center Operations and hasisresponsible for the independent planning, analysis, and administration of data center infrastructure, building related infrastructure, and physical securitysystems, toensure continuous global operationsandmaintainingcompany polices. This role exercises discretion and independent judgment in evaluating infrastructure performance, recommending solutions, anddeterminingcourses of action for complex operational issues.

The position functions with minimal supervision and is expected to proactivelyidentifyrisks, drive process improvements, and make decisions that directlyimpactsystem availability and business continuity. Expected salary: $29-35/hr (60-75,000 USD per annum)

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, prioritize, and resolve infrastructure service issues, applying professional judgment to determineappropriate solutionsand escalation paths.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in diagnosing complex infrastructure problems; independentlydeterminesand implements corrective action in time-sensitive environments.

  • Ability to follow polices and best practices whenInstallingservers and network equipment into cabinets and racks, whilemaintainingall required documentation and records.

  • CAT6, single-mode, and multi-mode fiber cabling installations and suppor.

  • Ability toassescabinet power load and consumption measurements, tomaintainbalanced power distribution and operationalsafety requirements.

  • ManagingInventory control for servers, components and cables using DCIM software.

  • Manages work intake, prioritization, and resolution tracking throughticketing system, exercising judgment in assigning urgency anddeterminingresolution approaches.

  • Handlinglifecycleprocess of IT and infrastructuredevices. Such asplanning and coordination of equipmentmigrations,newequipment installations, and following proper disposal of unused equipment.

  • Authors andmaintainsauthoritative operational standards, best practices, and procedural documentation that govern data center operations, buildinginfrastructure support, and physical security.

  • Leads and manages infrastructure projects from initiation through completion, exercising independent judgment on scope, approach, and sequencing.

  • Handling oflogisticsas needed, to support global operationsand IT related support.

  • Monitor andmaintainall Power sources that are part of the Data Center Operations Globally and all Global IT Office locations.

  • Understanding of cable plant designs andfundamentalof variouscategory(CAT) cabling standards and fiber cabling froma patchingneeds andrequirement.Understanding ofstructured cabling systems.

  • Security Systems Monitoring and Maintenance.

  • Provides after-hours infrastructure support as a subject matter resource; independently assesses and resolves escalated incidentsin a team rotation.

Qualifications

  • Minimumtwo- three yearsof working experience in data center facilities and infrastructure including power, cabling, and rack management design.

  • High school diplomarequired. Post-secondary education in Information Technology ora relatedfield preferred.

  • Working knowledge of networking,serverand cable hardware.

  • Experienced with customer interaction and relations.

  • Experienced with vendor relations on a professional level.

  • Very organizedand detail oriented, with high degree of accuracy and follow-up.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (MS Office experience).

  • Self-motivated, reliable team player.

  • Ability to work in collaborative high-pressure environment.

  • Mustpossessdesire to learnnew technologies.

  • Consistently work to enhance system performance and systems availability.

  • Preferred knowledge ofERPsystemsto generate purchase orders and manage invoices.

  • May require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.

  • The ability tolift upto 50 pounds.

  • Driver's license and reliable transportation (travel between office locationsrequired).

  • Requires general understanding of building electrical and mechanical systems supportingthe datacenter operations. Licensed electriciana plus.
