What You'll Do:


Pelican Products is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic III to join our South Deerfield manufacturing team.


This is a hands-on, multi-craft maintenance role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing equipment, and solving problems on the production floor. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, machining, piping, and facility systems to keep our manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.



  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose complex equipment problems, determine the extent of repairs needed, and complete repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Perform piping, carpentry, painting, sheet metal, and other facility maintenance work as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on plant and production equipment, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Perform MIG welding and routine machining to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
  • Identify damaged or worn components and determine whether parts should be repaired, fabricated, or replaced.
  • Install and repair water and compressed-air lines.
  • Complete major facility repairs, equipment installations, and improvement projects.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and machine tools to complete maintenance and repair work.
  • Read measurements accurately using Vernier measuring tools, tape measures, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to less-experienced maintenance mechanics when needed.
  • Identify and report equipment failures, unsafe conditions, defective materials, and other issues that could impact production.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Work closely with Production, Facilities, other Maintenance team members, and outside contractors to support operational needs.
  • Work Schedule - 3rd Shift, Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.


What We're Looking For:



  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance or related experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair experience.
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience performing electrical and general facility maintenance.
  • MIG welding experience.
  • Experience with basic machining operations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures, disassemble machinery, determine required repairs, and safely return equipment to operation.
  • Experience using measurement tools and understanding measurement techniques and principles.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, and outside contractors.
  • Must have your own tools.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working with robotics or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with two-material or multi-component injection molding.
  • Experience troubleshooting injection molding processes or equipment.


Additional Information



  • This is an onsite position in South Deerfield, Massachusetts.
  • Flexibility with work schedules is required based on maintenance and production needs.
  • Must be available for overtime, including evenings and weekends, with or without advance notice.
  • Must be available for on-call support when necessary.
