Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training in heat treating, metallurgy, aerospace manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.


Experience Requirements



  • 1-3 years of heat treat experience or related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience operating industrial furnaces, ovens, quench systems, or thermal processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of aerospace material properties and heat treatment processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Basic computer skills for production reporting, data entry, and process monitoring.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working in an AS9100, NADCAP, or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with AMS specifications, process controls, and traceability requirements.
  • Experience performing hardness testing, conductivity testing, and quality inspections.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Ability to work around high-temperature equipment and industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and heat-resistant protective gear.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, alternate shifts, or weekends as needed.


Job Duties



  • Set up and operate heat treat furnaces, ovens, and quench systems to process aerospace components according to customer and industry specifications.
  • Monitor temperatures, atmosphere or vacuum levels, ramp rates, soak times, and quench parameters to ensure compliance with process requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, AMS specifications, and internal work instructions.
  • Perform hardness testing, conductivity testing, and other inspections to verify product quality.
  • Maintain accurate production records, process documentation, and traceability requirements.
  • Verify calibration status of thermocouples, instrumentation, and testing equipment prior to use.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment and process issues and communicate concerns to leadership.
  • Follow AS9100, NADCAP, safety, quality, and aerospace manufacturing standards.
  • Handle materials properly throughout the heat treatment process to maintain product integrity and compliance.
