Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Schedule: (Monday - Thursday) 6 PM - 6 AM | 2/2/3 schedule

The Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating, setting up, monitoring, and adjusting extrusion equipment to produce high-quality finished products according to production specifications.

Job Duties



  • Safely operate extrusion equipment to produce finished goods according to production specifications.
  • Set up and prepare extrusion machinery for production.
  • Perform winder functions and make tension adjustments as needed to maintain proper roll profile and product quality.
  • Make rate adjustments to maintain production specifications.
  • Operate the blender system, including cleaning, adjustments, and material changeovers.
  • Operate the treater system, including cleaning, adjustments, and changeovers.
  • Perform extrusion line start-ups and shutdowns.
  • Thread the winder and extrusion line using rope or film.
  • Safely purge extruders and change screen packs using the specified screens.
  • Perform a bubble pull to bring the extrusion line into production.
  • Operate and monitor the deflate system, winder, and secondary nips.
  • Monitor equipment and product quality throughout the production process.



Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.



Experience Requirements



  • Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment.
  • Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as an Extrusion Operator.



Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
