Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM

If you like to stay busy and work with good people, this Fabric Cutter role in Birmingham fits. You'll keep machines stocked, products moving, and the floor safe. Every shift brings pride in what you make and the team that puts it together.

The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret drawings, accurately transfer patterns and measurements onto fabric, and hand-cut fabric to the required specifications. This position is best suited for someone who has strong attention to detail and can work independently with minimal training.

Job Duties

• Read and interpret drawings, patterns, measurements, and specifications.
• Transfer drawings and patterns to fabric accurately and to scale.
• Measure, mark, and hand-cut various types of fabric.
• Ensure all cuts meet required dimensions and specifications.
• Inspect fabric for quality, defects, and proper alignment before cutting.
• Work carefully and efficiently to minimize material waste.
• Maintain an organized and safe work area.
• Follow shop safety procedures and production guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production deadlines.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or production training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Ability to work safely in manufacturing and production environments.
• Ability to follow written work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity and consistent quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate basic production equipment when required.
• Dependable attendance, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Fabric Cutter.
• Previous experience in fabric cutting, sewing, upholstery, awning fabrication, or a related field preferred.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
• Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
