Job summary

The Winder is responsible for winding transformer coils used in electrical equipment and instruments according to wiring diagrams, samples, or work orders. This role involves using coil-winding machines and hand tools, interpreting engineering drawings and schematics, and ensuring product quality and production standards are met.

Responsibilities



  • Wind standard coils for dry type transformers
  • Perform welding and/or brazing to join bus bars to foil
  • Utilize hook-up/hot work assembly tools to meet production demands
  • Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.
  • Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standards
  • Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints
  • Keep all work areas clean, organized, and presentable
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications



  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience in corresponding value stream
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution preferred
  • 3 or more years of soldering, brazing, or welding experience, or a completed welding certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent high school trades course preferred
  • Previous machine operation experience preferred

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates residing within 50 miles of the specified location will be considered
