We are looking for a consultative, confident, and self-motivated Social Media Specialist to help stand up, refine, and lead our social media presence. This is a foundational role combining high-level strategy with hands-on execution. You will shape our brand voice, make complex ideas digestible, and adapt campaign messaging across multiple channels, with a primary focus on LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.

In addition to strategy and content creation, this role features a key consultative component. You will partner with internal marketing teams and present design concepts and strategic points-of-view during client-facing virtual meetings with partner firms. You must be well-spoken, able to explain the "why" behind your design choices, and skilled at asking the right discovery questions to uncover partner needs.

Because this is a newly defined role entering an evolving space, you should feel comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving a clear plan forward, and collaborating seamlessly with our centralized Content and MarComms teams.

Our eligible talent have access to amazing benefits like subsidized health, vision, and dental plans, paid sick leave in all 50 states and Canada, and retirement plans with an employer match and immediate vesting. We also offer free financial wellness programs, optional flexible spending accounts, voluntary insurance, and identity protection plans, and a free Employee Assistance Program.

Aquent is an equal-opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected characteristics. We're about creating an inclusive environment-one where different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are valued, and everyone can contribute, grow their careers, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Partner Consultation
  • Develop and execute a nimble, scalable social media strategy aligned with overall brand, campaign, and business priorities.
  • Participate in virtual client-facing calls with transition partners; confidently present social designs, articulate the strategic rationale, and ask probing questions to extract key messaging goals.
  • Establish social media guidelines, governance, and workflows to ensure brand consistency as our social presence grows.
  • Content Creation, Adaptation & Execution
  • Translate complex financial topics (e.g., tax planning, estate planning, wealth management) into digestible, engaging, and channel-appropriate content across LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Partner with the centralized Content team (blog/article writers) and MarComms team (PR and product leads) to repurpose core content into high-impact social assets.
  • Collaborate with creative resources to conceptualize strong digital visual assets, including optimized YouTube thumbnails and channel graphics.
  • Plan, write, schedule, and publish day-to-day posts across all active platforms.
  • Analytics, Optimization & Community Engagement
  • Monitor channel performance, community engagement, and key metrics across platforms.
  • Work alongside analytics leads to conduct regular content audits, refining tone, publishing cadence, and visual direction based on data.
  • Stay current on platform-specific best practices, algorithms, and social media management frameworks.

What You'll Bring:

Required Qualifications:

  • Financial Services Experience: Must have a strong background in financial services, wealth management, or a heavily regulated industry, with a solid understanding of industry concepts, terminology, and compliance considerations.
  • Location/Time Zone: Remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Central or Mountain Time zones.
  • Consultative Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Confident and well-spoken in virtual partner meetings with the ability to articulate design logic and lead discovery discussions.
  • Social Media Expertise: 4-5+ years of social media experience driving strategy, execution, and content adaptation across B2B, B2C, and affiliate/partner models.
  • Platform Mastery: Deep hands-on experience with LinkedIn (primary platform) and YouTube, alongside Facebook and native or third-party scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Canva).
  • Autonomy & Ambiguity: Proven ability to work independently, self-manage deadlines, and bring order and structure to a newly defined role.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working directly alongside MarComms, PR, or product marketing teams.
  • Hands-on experience creating or directing visual social media assets, including YouTube thumb strategy and digital image sizing.
