ABOUT HALLMARK'S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

We're looking for curious, creative, and consumer-focused interns who are passionate about storytelling, trends, culture, creativity, and human connection.

Writing Studio & Greetings Editorial Intern

This internship provides hands-on experience in creative writing, content development, editorial planning, trend research, and greeting card product strategy. Interns will partner with writers, editors, and product teams to develop consumer-focused content and concepts that help Hallmark create meaningful connections through greeting cards and related products.

What you'll do



  • Create original writing for greeting cards and related Hallmark products.
  • Explore emerging trends, voices, and cultural insights relevant to Gen Z and Gen Alpha consumers.
  • Learn how Hallmark plans, develops, and curates greeting card programs.
  • Conduct editorial analysis and consumer research to identify future content opportunities.
  • Develop concepts and editorial content that authentically connect with consumers.
  • Partner with writers, editors, designers, and product teams throughout the creative process.
  • Present recommendations and creative concepts to business and creative leaders.



            BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

            The following is required to be considered for this role:



            • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
            • A graduation date of December 2027, May 2028, December 2028, May 2029, December 2029, or May 2030.



              PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

              Your resume and application will stand out if you are:



              • Demonstrated interest in writing, content creation, publishing, media, advertising, or product development
              • Strong writing and editing skills
              • Familiarity with social, cultural, and consumer trends relevant to Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences
              • Experience through coursework, publications, student organizations, freelance work, or personal creative projects is a plus
              • Portfolio, writing samples, or examples of creative work encouraged but not required



                    ADDITIONAL DETAILS



                    • Our internship program is 12 weeks long, starting in late May and ending in early August.
                    • This summer internship is a hybrid position, with the flexibility to work from both our recently renovated headquarters building in Kansas City, MO, and from your summer residence within the KC metro area.
                    • Some relocation and housing assistance is provided for interns whose permanent address is outside of the KC metro area. Relocation is required for this role.
