This position is expected to start around January 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (endingapproximately May 2027or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

About the Team:

The team serves as a bridge between Vehicle software and the manufacturing environment. The team works globally and cross functionally towards supporting manufacturing with various KPIs, designing solutions to increase efficiency, improving validation of software beforeit'sintegrated into manufacturing, and launching exciting new productsand features. The Factory Firmware Team is the eyes and ears of the VehicleSoftware organization within the factory and often have the last say on the integration of new software to manufacturing - providing valuable insight and feedback to accelerate development of new software features.

This role will focus onImprovements to the vehicle testing and diagnostic systems used in the factory.This includes new features to speed up diagnosis and repairs, improvements to the scalability of our systems, and support for upcoming new products.It will involve software development,debugging ofescalations, and spending time learning from repair technicians who are actually doing the repairs.An ideal candidate has a combination of a strong software background, a familiarity with electrical systems, and is comfortable communicating with people in both technical and non-technical roles.


What You'll Do
  • Design and implement improvements to our vehicle testing and diagnostic systems
  • Triage and debug escalations from internal teams that rely on the systems we own
  • Design features tooptimizemanufacturing operations for rate, quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Understand and debug hardware and software interactions during design, launch, and deployment of products or features

What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree inComputer science, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer, Systems Engineering,or a related field of study with a graduation date between May 2027 - May 2028
  • Experience with hands-on debugging complex subsystems involving software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
  • Proficiencyin Python
  • Experience with deploying code to production
  • Experience developing/integrating multiple software systems
  • First-principles approach to unfamiliar problems and system design
  • Excitement to learnnew technologiesin any area of the stack
  • Ability to prioritize and split time between multiple large-scale projects

    Expected Compensation
    $42.07 - $58.89 + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
