Manager, Workplace Operations

As Manager of Workplace Operations, you are responsible for overseeing Transportation, Culinary, Mail Room, and Janitorial operations across multiple areas in manufacturing, R&D, and office locations. You will lead through the existing functional leaders for each of these disciplines, holding them accountable for service quality, operational excellence, and team performance.

• Lead and develop the existing leaders for Transportation, Culinary, Mail Room, and Janitorial. Set clear expectations, coach performance, and hold each discipline accountable for service delivery, program excellence, safety, and KPI results
• Sustain and iterate operational guidelines, standard procedures, and service standards, and manage day-to-day Workplace Operations to maximize efficiency across transportation, kitchens and dining, mail/shipping infrastructure, custodial assets, and site resources
• Partner with functional leaders to maintain staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintain a safe and secure work environment; and develop growth opportunities for leaders and their teams
• Implement vendor management best practices and oversee vendors, business partners, and contractors supporting Transportation, Culinary, Mail Room, and Janitorial
• Own reporting and budget alignment for all four functions within the department budget. Review plans and proposals to determine timeframes, identify required resources, and resolve operational issues
• Act as the subject matter expert for internal clients and the Workplace Operations team, and strengthen customer relationships across the organization, using functional leaders as the primary operators. Partner with production, engineering, and admin leadership to support their key objectives
• Initiate and lead complex operational initiatives and process improvements spanning the four disciplines to continually improve service, delivery, and employee satisfaction, including in a customer-service intensive, 24/7 multi-shift environment (site dependent)

• Proven experience leading multi-site workplace, facilities, or site-services operations, ideally spanning two or more of: transportation, culinary/food service, mail/shipping, or janitorial/custodial
• Demonstrated success managing and developing people leaders (not only individual contributors), with accountability for service quality, staffing, and results through those leaders
• Experience owning vendor performance, service-level agreements, and operating budgets for outsourced or hybrid in-house/vendor operations
• Strong communication, cross-functional partnership, and first-principles problem-solving skills
