Freelance Presentation Designer - Power Point

Purohit Navigation
United States, Illinois, Chicago
233 South Wacker Drive (Show on map)
Sep 01, 2026
JOB SUMMARY

The PPT Presentation Designer is a freelance practitioner who supports presentation development across both planned initiatives and short-notice requests. The designer works within Purohit Navigation (PNAV) established brand system and takes direction from internal leads; the position is execution-focused rather than strategic, though it requires enough design judgment to elevate work, not just produce it. Because the project(s) can arrive with compressed timelines, availability and responsiveness is important as is design skill.

Sample work may include pitches, strategic planning presentations, and capabilities and proposals. This is a remote freelance engagement. Standard projects carry reasonable lead time; rush requests are confirmed mutually rather than assumed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Brand Execution
  • Apply PNAV existing visual system to create clean, cohesive slides that align with brand planning and the strategic narratives behind each deck; maintain fidelity to the system - decks should look unmistakably like PNAV work, with no drift toward the designer's personal aesthetic
  • Use color logic, iconography, graphic elements, and layout systems to connect related ideas, reinforce key themes, and ensure a visually cohesive narrative
  • Develop custom diagrams, process flows, timelines, charts, infographics, and data visualizations that improve comprehension and engagement
  • Apply strong design thinking to simplify complex information without losing strategic nuance
  • Ensure presentations maintain a consistent visual language while adapting to different audiences and objectives
Structural Support
  • Work from varied inputs - sometimes finished content, more often outlines, rough drafts, or loosely organized material accompanied by verbal direction
  • Translate ideas into structured layouts and organize content into a clear, logical flow
Quality Elevation
  • Strengthen every deck: refine visual hierarchy, enforce consistency, and improve readability so that the content is clearly and professionally presented
  • Build purposeful animation where it supports the narrative, including sequenced builds, morph transitions, and reveals
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to project scopes, responsibilities, and timelines; proactively flag risks or capacity concerns to the team
  • Monitor individual hours against project estimates; communicate variances in a timely manner
  • Confirm receipt of requests promptly and communicate availability honestly, including for rush work
  • Maintain organized, fully editable working files across active projects
  • Keep internal leads informed of all relevant project developments
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:
Takes direction from internal creative, strategy, and account leads. Collaborates with content and strategy team members whose material the decks present. All deliverables must remain fully editable by PNAV teams.

External:
No direct client relationship ownership. Decks are client-facing, but client communication and reviews are managed by PNAV internal teams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Remote freelance engagement
  • Supports both planned initiatives and short-notice requests
  • Standard projects carry reasonable lead time; rush requests are confirmed mutually rather than assumed
  • Can often include same-day or next-morning turnarounds - evening work a possibility
  • No travel expected
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Required
  • Several years of dedicated presentation design experience, whether from an agency, an in-house creative team, or an established freelance practice, with a body of corporate work to show for it
  • PowerPoint fluency: command of slide masters, theme colors and fonts, layout management, and animation panels
  • Deliverables must remain fully editable by PNAV
  • Strong design fundamentals: hierarchy, alignment, typography, spacing, and sensible use of color
  • Attention to detail is critical; the designer proactively catches off-brand colors, inconsistent margins, and stray formatting
  • Takes direction well, asks clarifying questions early rather than guessing, and handles feedback without friction
  • Reliability is absolutely key: communicates honestly, confirms requests promptly, and holds committed deadlines, including the occasional same-day or next-morning turnaround
Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical marketing, or other regulated industries
  • Experience supporting executive-level presentations, pitches, and proposals
  • Experience building or maintaining PowerPoint template systems
