The Spirit of the Position: The Greeter is a defining ambassador of the property. This role requires flawless execution of first and last impressions - every arrival and departure is an opportunity to exceed guest expectations through genuine warmth, refined professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail, consistent with Forbes' rigorous service benchmarks. Key Responsibilities Guest Welcome & Arrival (Standard: Warm, Sincere Greeting)
- Greet every arriving guest within seconds, using sincere eye contact, a genuine smile, and the guest's name whenever known
- Deliver a warm, unhurried welcome regardless of how busy the arrival area is - guests should never feel rushed or like "one of many"
- Open doors, assist with luggage coordination alongside bell staff, and personally escort guests when appropriate
- Anticipate needs before they are voiced: offer refreshments, weather-appropriate items (umbrellas, cool towels), or assistance without being asked
- Review daily arrival and VIP reports to recognize returning guests, loyalty members, and special occasions on sight
- Reference guest preferences and history naturally in conversation (personalization without appearing scripted)
- Proactively alert Front Desk, Concierge, and Management of VIP arrivals to enable seamless, personalized check-in
- Maintain composure and grace during high-volume arrivals, ensuring the Forbes standard of individualized attention is never compromised by volume
- Provide polished, confident guidance on property amenities, dining outlets, spa, and events
- Offer knowledgeable, curated recommendations on local attractions, dining, and experiences befitting a luxury clientele
- Demonstrate command of property history, design, and story to enrich guest experience when relevant
- Resolve minor concerns immediately with empathy and ownership; escalate promptly and discreetly when needed
- Deliver a genuine, unhurried farewell to departing guests, using their name and referencing their stay when possible
Requirements:
- Prior hospitality experience and/or exceptional customer service in any luxury property.
- Maintain immaculate grooming, posture, and uniform presentation at all times, per Forbes appearance standards
- Uphold flawless verbal and nonverbal communication - tone, vocabulary, and body language aligned with the property's luxury brand voice
- Model the property's culture of anticipatory, sincere, and refined hospitality in every interaction, observed or not
Skills:
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
- Must be able to make decisions independently and stay firm on decisions made (not easily persuaded).
Physical Demands:
- Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Ability to lift, push and pull at least 15 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
- Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
