Position Summary: CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic (CTC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Obstetrician and Gynecologist (OBGYN) to join an established practice in San Antonio, TX. Anchored by CHRISTUS Children's downtown-San Antonio's premier freestanding hospital for maternal and pediatric care-this position provides high-quality OBGYN care with access to advanced surgical technology and tertiary subspecialty support. Successful candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with an active Texas Medical License prior to employment.

Job Description: This opportunity offers an immediate patient base with practice operations split between two primary clinic locations (Downtown and Southside). The practice features a heavy obstetrics caseload (85% OB / 15% GYN) with strong clinical growth potential. Clinical care is supported by CHRISTUS Children's downtown, featuring a Level IV NICU, dedicated OB Emergency/Triage unit, 24/7 in-house anesthesia coverage, and on-site Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) subspecialty integration.

Physicians enjoy a balanced schedule with a 5-day clinic workweek (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) that includes a flexible half-day reserved for administrative duties. Optional academic involvement and teaching tracks are also available through local residency programs.

Key Practice Highlights:


  • Clinical Focus: 85% OB / 15% GYN mix, averaging 18-20 deliveries per month per physician with room for expanded surgical volume.

  • Advanced Facilities: Surgeries performed at Baptist Hospital and Alamo Heights Surgical Center, equipped with laparoscopic and robotic (da Vinci) capabilities.

  • Dedicated Hospital Support: On-site MFM consultations (telemedicine available), dedicated OB Triage, Level IV NICU, and an active OB Hospitalist program to streamline admissions and unassigned patient coverage.

  • Clinical Protocols: Permissive VBAC protocols (no minimum gestational age restrictions); circumcisions are referred directly to pediatrics.

  • EMR & Administrative Flexibility: Comprehensive EPIC EMR system across clinical sites with one flexible half-day dedicated to admin work.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care in both outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings.

  • Manage prenatal visits, labor and delivery, routine antepartum rounding, and postpartum care.

  • Perform routine GYN surgeries and clinical procedures using modern laparoscopic and robotic platforms.

  • Partner closely with MFM specialists, pediatric care teams, and hospitalist colleagues to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Participate optionally in teaching and supervising resident physicians during clinical rotations and surgical cases.


Requirements:


  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • Active (or eligible for) unrestricted Texas Medical License.

  • Open to all experienced physicians and well-trained post-residency candidates.

  • Strong clinical, surgical, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care.
