Senior Buyer - Large Wiring, Body, Dash, I/P

The Senior Buyer position will be responsible for negotiating and buying high and low-voltage wiring harness, power distribution, connectors and other electrical components in support of the Electrical Wiring Purchasing organization. The duties include management of the sourcing process, developing and implementing creative solutions to complex challenges, capacity and cost management, and PO/ contract administration. This includes but is not limited to: Selecting suppliers, placing purchase orders, managing complex contracts, interfacing with internal and external customers, managing key Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier relationships, and developing commodity strategies.

The ideal candidate must have: The ability to coordinate activities with other departments and resolve conflicts; must lead a cross functional team with "One Voice" to suppliers; and develop and manage key supplier relationships while maximizing suppliers' ability to deliver quality product on time. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing and/or assisting in the development of strategies and solutions to continuously improve costs and capacity.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelors in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university; or another related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in purchasing or other disciplines that require negotiation and/or exposure to sourcing/project management/cost management processes
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be able to effectively interface with cross functional teams and all levels of senior management
  • Well organized, self-motivated, and resourceful managing complex situations
  • Able to multi-task at highest levels in order to handle numerous matters through completion
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office programs
  • Analytical and presentation skills
