Duties: Support the purchasing department by procuring the materials and ingredients required to produce high-quality pork products in a processing facility, harvesting over 21,000 animals daily. Provide direction, oversight, and guidance to a team that processes orders and receives materials and ingredients. Collaborate and communicate with all levels of plant management and vendors to provide a high level of service to meet the organization's business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish procure-to-pay procedures and initial min/max inventory levels in the Box Shop and Warehouse to purchase materials and ingredients needed to support operations cost-effectively. Provide oversight and direction for preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for materials, ingredients, and capital projects promptly, followed by a collaborative effort with AP to ensure all invoices are paid on time. Assure timely execution of order processing to supply operations with no inventory interruptions while supporting the PPE team with order picking, material handling, inventory reconciliation, and scheduled cycle counts. Provide required reports to management and department leadership, including key metrics. Maintain a positive working relationship with internal customers and vendors, providing the highest level of customer service to support operations. Work closely with Food Safety and Quality Assurance teams to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, shipping stipulations, and complete deliveries. Maintain SQF Vendor files as required by the SQF plan. Provide direction, training, and development to the purchasing and receiving team to include the analysis of ROQ's and ROP's. Create, execute, and manage open purchase orders, inbound receiving logs, and packing slips for improved communication and planning for plant stakeholders. Analyze, interprets data, and completes other duties as requested by the manager. No hire/fire authority. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field plus at least two years of supply or accounting experience. Must have experience in purchasing and inventory control management. Must have experience with data processing. Must have experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have experience with ERP. Must have experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies including continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen, and Gemba. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must have good written and oral communication skills in English. | |
