Job Description
We are currently hiring a Full Time General Manager in Boston, Massachusetts.
As the General Manager, you will lead the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery experience, overseeing business performance, guest satisfaction, and community engagement while ensuring the brewery remains a welcoming destination for guests and coworkers alike. You will drive operational excellence across taproom operations, events, and hospitality experiences while partnering closely with teams across the brewery to deliver strong financial and operational results. In this highly visible leadership role, you will help strengthen the Samuel Adams brand through community partnerships, memorable guest experiences, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Brew:
  • Lead overall brewery and taproom performance, including revenue growth, profitability, guest experience, operational excellence, and brand engagement.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans, budgets, and growth strategies while driving fiscal responsibility across operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, businesses, nonprofits, cultural institutions, and community stakeholders to strengthen brand presence.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Brewing, Safety, Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Brand teams to deliver events, programs, and experiences that increase visitation and brand affinity.
  • Oversee taproom operations, brewery tours, retail offerings, and events to ensure exceptional hospitality, service quality, safety, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations, food and beverage safety standards, and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, safety, and financial results.
  • Coordinate brewery-wide communication, site initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration to support a safe, productive, and welcoming environment.
  • Hire, coach, develop, and retain high-performing coworkers while fostering a culture of hospitality, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, and perform duties that require walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, operating equipment, climbing stairs, and working in an active brewery environment.
What Ingredients You'll Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8+ years of experience in the food and beverage or hospitality industry with a demonstrated record of growth and leadership.
  • Strong experience in budgeting, financial management, labor planning, and cost control.
  • Experience in project planning, facilities management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience leading events, promotions, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties in a brewery and hospitality environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to 11 hours.
  • Ability to climb stairs, work on elevated platforms, and safely operate equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree.
  • Leadership experience at a major food and beverage venue or hospitality site.
  • Sales and/or marketing experience, ideally within the consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Experience partnering with manufacturing and sales organizations.
  • Experience with Kronos, MICROS point-of-sale systems, or Square platforms.
Level: 5M
At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $77,000 and $130,000. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
