Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling activities to support warehouse and distribution operations. This role ensures incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately, materials are properly stored and distributed, and all shipping and receiving documentation is completed in accordance with established procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against shipping documentation.
• Inspect incoming materials for accuracy and visible damage.
• Gather, verify, package, and prepare materials for shipment according to customer and transportation requirements.
• Process outgoing shipments using established shipping procedures.
• Record all received and shipped materials accurately using written and computerized systems.
• Route materials, supplies, and equipment to inspection, warehouse, or designated storage locations.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
• Operate forklifts, hydraulic pallet jacks, and other powered material handling equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Assist with inventory control and warehouse organization.
• Perform additional warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or a related field required.
• Experience operating forklifts or other powered material handling equipment preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record may be required.
• Knowledge of standard shipping and receiving procedures.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to complete shipping and inventory documentation.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment and operate material handling equipment.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
