Description Status: This is a full-time; salaried position Hours: Monday - Thursday: 6/7am - 3/4pm & Friday: 6am -12pm Benefits Offered to Full-time Employees: Health, Dental, Optical, Medical FSA/HSA, Dependent Care (FSA), Basic Life Plan, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, 401K with Company Match, Profit Sharing (ROA), PTO (Vacation), Holidays, Jury Duty, and Funeral Leave JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible to assist in, support and take a leadership role in assigned Continuous Improvement activities, such as, but not limited to Kaizen events, which include Business Process Improvement, Value Steam Mapping, 2P, 3P, 5S, CI Teams and Data Collection. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Do preparation and follow-up work for various assigned Continuous Improvement events and activities.
- Lead team-based activities focused on improvement of the business or manufacturing process.
- Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards and issues.
- Develop, improve and document manufacturing process, standard work, and work instructions.
- Perform time studies, workflow analysis and line balancing.
- Collaborate with maintenance team to improve equipment uptime and support TPM initiatives.
- Use and understand lean manufacturing principles and statistical measures to help ensure the success of projects assigned.
- Assist with the constant evaluation of techniques and methods needed to improve the overall performance of various Continuous Improvement activities and events.
- Provide necessary training to employees as requested in assigned Continuous Improvement programs.
- Ensure the collection of data and information is accurate and reliable.
- Travel to other company locations as requested to assist in execution of CI efforts in those locations.
- Lead quality improvement and problem-solving activities.
- Lead and manage small to medium Cap-Ex projects
- Promote an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Understand Current and Future Value Streams and how they are linked to various opportunities for improvement throughout the company.
- Approximately 50% of this position's time is spent on the production floor or quarry and the other 50% in the office.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Related experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment will be considered.
- Candidate must possess experience in leading teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience implementing lean principals in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to manipulate/create CAD drawings
- Must have above average verbal and written communication skills.
- Must also have proficient skills in use of various computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and MS Teams.
- This position also requires excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the company.
- Should also have the ability to learn and understand lean manufacturing including Time Based Strategy, Global Production System, Kaizen methodology and training skills.
- Ability to learn data analysis software such as Tableau and its applications
