Welder-Fabricator/Mill Operator Trainee

We are looking for a WELDER-FABRICATOR/MILL OPERATOR TRAINEE to join our Sikeston, MO plant. As a Mill Operator Trainee with Contech you will contribute to America's essential infrastructure including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate welding.
• Uses template, pattern, scribe, etc. to mark and lay out material.
• Aligns and assembles product for welding using crane, lever hoist ,chains, etc.
• Uses cutting or plasma torch to burn to precision layout.
• Welds structure joints completely.
• Cleans welded joints and applies zinc enriched Galvanox paint to welded area.
• Operates overhead cranes, coil handlers or forklifts to move coil from storage to machine area.
• Threads in-coming coils through mill processes.
• Operates mill components using manual and automatic control on control panel.
• Performs and records all QA check measurements required by the Quality Manual on product being produced.
• Performs equipment setup, routine mechanical maintenance, and repairs to all mill process equipment.
• Adheres to safety protocols to create a secure work environment.

About You

We Require:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG.
• Technical training or welding experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with precision instruments.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to complete & pass the Hel-Cor Mill Certification within 1-year of hire.
• Certification on forklift operation is preferred.
