Job Summary:

LeadstheTechnicalactivities of theProductEngineering Department to support Sales, Design,Operations, and Continuous Improvementgoals along with the company's strategic goals.Cross Functionallyestablishestheoveralltechnicalobjectives and initiatives of the Engineering Department.Ensuringthat products are designed or re-designed, or new product lines introduced,tomeet quality andsales objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • High level coordination support forengineering activities needed to process sales orders through release for manufacturing.
  • Supports continuous improvement and cost reduction activities through improved product design / design for manufacturing (DFM)
  • Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure smoothproduction releases.
  • Onboard and train new designers/engineers.
  • Develops andmaintainstraining routines...both site general and individual specific.
  • Continuouslymonitorand Right Size Product Engineering teamagainst norms.
  • Continuouslymonitorand driveteaching opportunities.
  • Both workspecificallyandculturally.
  • Continuously drive RightFirst-Timemindsets and the correspondingmethodologies.
  • Supports Service Engineering RFE's.
  • Understand the pulse ofproduction,from a technical/engineering standpoint, to ensure quality andtimelyproduct deliverables.
  • Works to understand and develop best practices in developing the new VA site.
  • Generally speaking: Be the teamleader.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and technical supervision to Engineering staff.
  • Promotes teamwork and staff involvement ininter-departmentalimprovement activities
  • Develop skill sets of engineering personnel in support of plant production goals
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the business team. If needed, support the business team withcustomer-facingactivities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ability to build consensus amongst co-workers, and the ability tofacilitateproblem resolution
  • Demonstrated problem solver; team player

Education and Qualifications:

  • Experience in HVAC design andcomponentselectionincluding fans, coils, refrigeration systems, and gas heat
  • Experience with PLC programming and HMI interfaces
  • Experience with common design software such asSolidWorksandAutoCAD
  • Demonstrated experience in configurable and custom product management
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Master is preferred, experience can be in lieu of
  • 10+years ofindustry experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of forcefrequentlyor constantlyto lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. This work requires sitting most of the time.
  • Daily walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activitysuch aspreparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is notsubstantially exposedto adverse environmental conditions.
