Overview NaphCare is hiring a Substance Abuse MAT Counselor to join our team of medical professionals to work at the Wayne County Jail located in Detroit, MI. Payrates range from $36.10 - $38.00/hour. As a Correctional Substance Abuse MAT Counselor, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to assists incarcerated individuals with planning their transition back into the community. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs. Responsibilities The Substance Abuse MAT Counselor helps patients with substance abuse problems transition from treatment to community-based supports responsible for helping patient inmates with substance abuse problems transition from the facility back into the community. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
Evaluating the medical, mental health, and social needs of inmates to identify their post-release needs
Qualifications Experience / Requirements / Qualifications
Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
