Position Summary
The Aviation Security Operations Support Specialist provides operational, administrative, analytical, and workforce support for aviation security programs and daily security operations. This position supports regulatory compliance, operational readiness, workforce coordination, documentation management, and performance reporting to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of airport and aviation security functions. The role works closely with security personnel, airport operations teams, regulatory agencies, contractors, airlines, Human Resources, and internal stakeholders to support compliance with security requirements and organizational objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Coordinate and assist with scheduling as needed to support operational supervisors and managers


    • Ancillary assistance with meetings, training activities, onboarding activities, and operational communications related to aviation security functions.


  • Support day-to-day aviation security operations and assist with maintaining efficient operational processes.
  • Monitor and track compliance with aviation security regulations, policies, procedures, and internal performance standards.
  • Assist with implementation and administration of airport security programs and security initiatives.
  • Maintain operational records, security documentation, personnel files, reports, and regulatory records in accordance with established requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze operational and security performance reports, metrics, trends, staffing data, and incident information.
  • Provide administrative support for recruitment and staffing activities, including coordinating interviews, processing personnel documentation, and supporting hiring workflows.
  • Assist with employee onboarding activities, orientation scheduling, access requests, credentialing coordination, and required training documentation.
  • Maintain employee attendance records, training completion records, certifications, and workforce tracking documentation.
  • Support employee engagement activities and assist supervisors with workforce communications and personnel-related administrative needs.
  • Assist with tracking employee performance documentation, training compliance requirements, and required personnel actions.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and operational leadership regarding personnel transactions, staffing updates, and employee records management.
  • Support audits, inspections, assessments, and compliance reviews involving aviation security and workforce requirements.
  • Assist with tracking corrective actions and follow-up activities associated with operational, security, or personnel-related findings.
  • Coordinate with airport stakeholders, airlines, contractors, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory partners to support operational needs.
  • Support incident documentation and assist with information gathering related to security events and investigations as appropriate.
  • Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational guidance documents, and process documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and workforce readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and documentation while meeting established service expectations and quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, workplace standards, safety requirements, and aviation security regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications



  • Associate degree in Aviation Management, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Homeland Security, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
  • Two or more years of experience in aviation operations, airport operations, security operations, regulatory compliance, workforce administration, or operational support functions.
  • Experience preparing reports, maintaining records, and supporting operational processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in airport or aviation security environments.
  • Knowledge of airport security operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting compliance programs, audits, inspections, or corrective action processes.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, workforce administration, or employee records processes.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with security management systems, access control systems, workforce systems, or operational databases.
