Director, Men's Design

We are seeking a Director, Men's Design to lead the creative vision, execution, and commercial translation of men's apparel across multiple product categories. This role is responsible for building brand-right, market-relevant product that balances aesthetic direction, performance, quality, and cost targets.

You will lead a small but high-impact design team and partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive seasonal assortments that resonate with target consumers and drive business performance.

What You'll Do



  • Lead the end-to-end design process for men's apparel across multiple categories and seasons
  • Define and evolve the creative direction for men's product in alignment with brand strategy
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a small design team (2+ direct reports)
  • Translate consumer and market insights into commercially viable product concepts
  • Ensure product design aligns with brand identity, quality standards, and financial targets
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, Product Development, Production, and Technical Design teams
  • Collaborate with CAD and Graphic Design partners to ensure cohesive storytelling across product
  • Drive seasonal assortments from concept through final commercialization
  • Balance creativity with cost engineering, margin targets, and production feasibility
  • Present design direction and product concepts to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders


What We're Looking For



  • 10+ years of experience in apparel or menswear design, with leadership responsibility
  • Proven track record leading design teams and developing high-performing product assortments
  • Deep understanding of garment construction, materials, fit, and manufacturing processes
  • Strong ability to translate brand direction into commercially successful product
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple categories and seasonal calendars simultaneously
  • Strong design sensibility with a clear understanding of consumer trends and marketplace dynamics
  • Experience balancing creative direction with cost, margin, and business objectives


Preferred Experience



  • Background in menswear, lifestyle, performance, or multi-category apparel brands
  • Experience working in fast-paced, seasonal product development environments
  • Exposure to global sourcing and cost optimization strategies
  • Familiarity with digital design tools and modern product development workflows
  • Experience working closely with merchandising and product strategy teams
  • Prior experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving design vision at scale
