Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel
The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. JOB PURPOSE: To ensure that all work requests pertaining to kitchens, function rooms, food outlets and public areas are maintained with a reasonable amount of repair. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC equipment. Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment in the building including guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms and parking garage. Monitoring and operation of BMS (Building Management System). Work on other equipment as needed. Maintain correct stock/inventory of HVAC supplies and filers and communicate when replenishment is needed. Respond to all requests. Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs. Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation. Must be familiar with Omni's systems and procedures Keep all work areas clean. Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Performs other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: EPA universal licenses are required. Previous HVAC maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred. Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems. Experience in reading and interpreting schematics. Requires general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel and ability to learn other related engineering programs. Must be organized and mechanically inclined with strong desire to learn building mechanics. Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Must be able to interact and communicate with the hotel guests. Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Must work indoors and outdoors including during extreme weather conditions. May be asked to be part of "ride-out" crew during severe weather events. Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts. ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS: Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion, including the use of handheld and powered tools.
