RISEN Peer Recovery Specialist (Part Time; 30 Hours)

RISEN is a BHDDH and Department of Housing initiative to reduce homelessness caused by untreated mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders. It embeds behavioral health professionals in local shelters and public housing authorities to connect vulnerable individuals with vital treatment and housing services.


Community Care Alliance is seeking individuals with lived experience who have successfully navigated these challenges to support our team, working with individuals to help them to maintain their housing.


In this role you will:


  • Leverage personal experience to teach and role model healthy living, and effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
  • Maintain good boundaries.
  • Assist clients with accessing recovery supports, which includes connecting them to The Serenity Center, our Peer-run recovery support center designed to assist individuals in navigating their personal recovery journey.
  • Greet clients with unconditional positive regard and develop a trusting working alliance.
  • Evaluate client needs and contribute to the development of a person-centered recovery plan.
  • Meet with individuals one-on-one and will run recovery groups to support the people you are working with.

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not mandatory.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

High school diploma or GED required. Must have Peer Support Certification OR be willing to work towards it.
