Facilities Technician - JLL

What this job involves:

As a Facilities Technician at JLL, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional facility operations and maintenance services that directly impact client satisfaction and building performance. This hands-on role combines technical expertise with strong customer service, as you collaborate with operations teams, facilities staff, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless building operations. You'll conduct inspections, perform repairs, and maintain critical building systems while upholding the highest safety and quality standards. Your work will be essential to creating and maintaining environments where our clients can thrive, contributing to JLL's mission of shaping a brighter way in facility management.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform facility inspections and due diligence efforts, promptly identifying and reporting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations to ensure continuous service delivery
  • Execute general interior maintenance tasks including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, fixing doors, and responding to requests to move office furniture, machinery, and equipment
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment, working on basic plumbing and electrical tasks as directed
  • Update work order status in real time utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as 360 Facility, ensuring accurate tracking and communication
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members to address maintenance and repair needs while maintaining a strong customer service mentality and professional presence
  • Escalate problems or issues to customers and managers in a timely manner, complete necessary Hazard Assessments, and attend required work and safety meetings
  • Maintain compliance with all safety procedures, State, County, and City Ordinances, Codes, and Laws, while recognizing and proposing methods to eliminate safety hazards

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with minimum 1 year of relevant experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
  • Strong customer service skills with proven ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals including clients and vendors
  • Physical ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and in mechanical/equipment rooms around heavy equipment
  • Vision abilities necessary for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures with commitment to maintaining good housekeeping and a safe work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Attention to detail with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as 360 Facility or similar platforms
  • Experience working in commercial or corporate facilities environments
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation concepts
  • Familiarity with Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Additional certifications in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other relevant trade areas

Salary: $20 per hour
