Position Summary
In collaboration with the Program Director, manages and administers the department residency/fellowship training program in accordance with department/GME (Graduate Medical Education)/regulatory policies and requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Receives, prioritizes and responds to requests for patient film/digital image records in 1.
  • Works as a member of the training program leadership team to manage and provide administrative oversight and support to the programs. Creates, updates, maintains and distributes educational materials and curriculum.
  • Manages all aspects of onboarding. Ensures the timely input of documents in accordance with regulatory requirements. Ensures follow-up on missing documents to complete records.
  • Manages and participates in content development for annual orientation programs. May schedule speakers and manage conference rooms/virtual venues, trainings and other new hire requirements.
  • Participates in and/or presents regularly at GME sponsored meetings/educational sessions. Designs and delivers content for monthly coordinator meetings on topics such as professional development opportunities, TAGME (Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education) preparation, annual update, interviewing, data management GME coordinator initiatives, and other coordinator development opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains required records and data for residents, fellows, faculty and alumni with a focus on continuous systems improvement and accuracy. Ensures optimal program utilization of GME databases in accordance with department/GME requirements. Identifies and proposes improvements and changes to databases based on anticipated program needs.
  • Interprets, applies, monitors and develops recommendations to program leadership to ensure compliance with ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education), other national accrediting agency/regulatory requirements, and hospital policies to ensure compliance. Attends national conferences, web-conferences and other educational sessions to keep abreast of changing policies and be the primary point person in the program for all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees development, planning, content design and execution of educational conferences, didactic sessions, M&M (Morbidity & Mortality) conferences and special events throughout the year. Maintains documentation of evaluation and attendance tracking for events. Uses program feedback to generate improvement plans to educational curriculum in accordance with (department/program, GME/and regulatory objectives.
  • Acts as a resource to house staff and as a liaison for the house staff/training program. Informs house staff of policies, procedures and schedules. Diffuses conflicts by accommodating reasonable requests and managing issues as appropriate; escalates issues to manager as needed.

Minimum qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's preferred

Experience:
  • 4 years' hospital administrative experience including a minimum of one year of GME experience.
  • TAGME Certification strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with computerized office applications required; fluency with Microsoft Office applications is preferred. Advanced proficiency with medical education applications such as NRMP, ERAS, New Innovations, and others as appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to details.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, anticipate and apply applicable regulatory requirements and hospital policies to ensure programmatic compliance with graduate medical education program training requirements.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
