The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care for mothers and babies. Function as members of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams Carry out established nursing procedures and perform related duties as required Perform nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision Assist with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team
Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance. Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of recent full-time clinical RN labor and delivery experience in an inpatient setting including high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, operating room, postpartum and well baby.
- Carry out established nursing procedures, and perform nursing care for patients with complex needs.
- The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of recent nursing experience including high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, operating room, postpartum, and well baby. Prior MedSurg, TCU, ICU, step down experience preferred. BSN
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Current American Heart Association CPR certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced EFM
