The Clinical Research Physician Assistant is a professional physician assistant who possesses the education, knowledge, clinical skills and experience necessary to provide expert care in the area of clinical research with physician oversight. The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Research Physician Assistant are the direct application of clinical expertise to study participants in the Dermatology Clinical Research Unit (DCRU). The Clinical Research Physician Assistant works collaboratively with the Director of the DCRU, Principal Investigators, and research staff to conduct study procedures per protocol. The Clinical Research Physician Assistant has responsibility for maintaining quality of care standards for all procedures performed and for ensuring all clinical care meets regulatory standards for the patients participating in clinical trials. The Clinical Research Physician Assistant evidences self-direction, accountability, and an attention to detail. The Clinical Research Physician Assistant shall provide care under the direction of the Medical Director for shift duties. The Physician Assistant shall function in accordance with granted privileges, standardized procedures and policies. Incumbent will perform other duties as needed. About the Dermatology Clinical Research Unit The Dermatology Clinical Research Unit (DCRU) at Mount Zion is an outpatient clinical research unit to support observational and investigational research studies through the Department of Dermatology.

In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary. Required Qualifications:

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
