Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Events & Sponsorships Coordinator is responsible for building and cultivating strategic relationships and conducting a variety of community outreach events and activities for South Texas Health System. The position serves as a brand ambassador for South Texas Health System as s/he executes a variety of onsite and virtual programs and events for the system in an effort to educate the community, including local businesses, organizations, physicians, schools, patients and the general community, about STHS and its services and offerings. Responsibilities include planning, development and implementation of local, grassroots marketing related events and programs, but are not limited to, STHS signature events (Winter Texan Expo, Trauma & Injury Prevention Expo), grand openings, internal and external health fairs, career days, physician speaker seminars, community lectures, special screening promotions at local schools and businesses, tours and outreach planning. The Events & Sponsorships Coordinator will serve as the liaison between STHS and any organizations, government agencies, etc. in fulfilling event requirements for any client-sponsored events supported by STHS. Additionally, the Events & Sponsorships Manager will work to develop strategic partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, non-profits, etc. in an effort to build working relationships with potential partners. The position will be responsible for executing strategies that help create, maintain and promote a positive public image by forming relationships with various members of the community, government and public in order to forge new partnership opportunities for STHS. Responsible for managing and tracking the inventory of STHS premium items. Perform additional duties as required.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Strong interest in health and wellness events and promotions.

2. Must have above average public speaking skills in English and Spanish language. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.

3. Experience in coordinating and developing a variety of diverse events and projects, including health screening events, expos, grand launches, ribbon cutting ceremonies, etc.

4. Significant travel is required in the field conducting local outreach and/or manning events with the ability to work flexible hours when needed, including evenings and weekends.

5. Ability to create, compose and edit written materials, such as presentations, events collaterals, print and digital content, etc.

6. Self-starter who is detail-oriented and well organized, and computer proficient.

7. An ability to multi-task a multitude of projects in various stages of the planning, implementation and evaluation process.

8. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree required in Communication, Business, Marketing, or Public Relations.
