The Valet Attendant is a critical first and last point of contact in the guest journey, responsible for delivering the sincere, seamless, and anticipatory service that defines a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star property. Beyond safely and efficiently parking and retrieving vehicles, this role sets the tone for the guest's entire stay through warmth, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail - every arrival and departure must reflect the property's luxury standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Welcome & Vehicle Handling (Forbes Standard: Warm, Sincere Greeting)

  • Greet every arriving guest promptly with sincere eye contact, a genuine smile, and the guest's name whenever known
  • Open vehicle doors and welcome guests before addressing the vehicle itself - the guest always comes first
  • Safely and efficiently park and retrieve guest vehicles, treating every car with the same care regardless of make or model
  • Provide guests with a claim ticket and clear, courteous instructions for retrieval

Anticipatory & Personalized Service

  • Anticipate guest needs before they're voiced: assist with bags, umbrellas in inclement weather, or mobility needs
  • Recognize returning guests and VIPs on sight when possible, referencing prior visits naturally
  • Communicate guest arrival details to Bell Staff, Front Desk, and Concierge to support a seamless, coordinated welcome

Vehicle Care & Safety

  • Drive all vehicles cautiously and respectfully, adhering to posted speed limits and property traffic patterns
  • Maintain organized, efficient vehicle staging to minimize wait times, especially during high-volume periods
  • Report any vehicle damage, mechanical issues, or safety concerns immediately per property protocol

Departure & Retrieval (Forbes Standard: Sincere, Unhurried Farewell)

  • Retrieve vehicles promptly upon request, minimizing guest wait time without compromising safety
  • Deliver a genuine, unhurried farewell, using the guest's name and referencing their stay when possible
  • Assist with loading luggage and provide a final warm send-off, reinforcing the property's hospitality culture
  • Accurately log vehicle tickets, keys, and any noted conditions per property procedure
  • Attend and actively contribute to daily pre-shift briefings covering arrivals, VIPs, events, and traffic flow planning
  • Support broader Guest Services functions during peak periods as needed
