Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization that serves the Episcopal Church, located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Content & Creative Services (CCS) is responsible for creating compelling communications that support our strategic plan and our three lines of business. Using traditional and digital media, CCS gives voice to our work by broadcasting key messages, developing curricula, sharing information, and helping business partners drive engagement with the products, programs, services, and careers offered by the Church Pension Group (CPG). The Vice President Digital Experience and Creative Services will report to the SVP of CCS and provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for CPG's digital experience and creative services functions, delivering strategic direction and oversight of all digital assets across the organization to ensure a consistent and engaging experience, with direct accountability for brand standards, design quality, and user experience across all channels. This role requires a leader with a strong foundation in creative design and digital experience-bringing design judgment, visual fluency, and user-centered thinking to both strategy and execution. You will manage the creative functions and web experience teams, which encompass creative services, visual design, multimedia, web strategy, user experience, and platforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Interact with senior management, clients, and others on all matters related to web and online service delivery strategy and how those translate into workable solutions for clients
- Work with business unit and corporate unit executives to develop web and online service delivery strategy and roadmaps that reflect client needs, organizational priorities, and design best practices
- Serve as "voice of the audience" and SME in all discussions of web strategy for cpg.org, the intranet, and self-service applications, advocating for clarity, usability, accessibility, and cohesion across the digital ecosystem
- Serve as subject matter expert in design, usability, and accessibility of our websites, service portals, and various web-based applications, and provide creative direction, critique, and final quality oversight for digital and visual work, ensuring consistent brand and user experiences
- Own, maintain, and enforce CPG brand and graphic standards across all organization communications, ensuring consistent execution of visual identity, tone, and design quality across digital, print, multimedia, and experiential channels
- Creative Services
- Communications design for documents, publications, conferences, online ads, signage (print and digital), promotional and gift items. Branding and creative for web, intranet, PowerPoints, emails, and online learning-providing hands-on creative leadership, design guidance, and governance to ensure a high standard of craft and consistency.
- Digital and Multimedia Design
- User interface, user experience, and multimedia designs and standards for websites and web-based applications across all lines of business, with a strong emphasis on intuitive navigation, visual clarity, and engaging user experiences
- Lead visual storytelling initiatives that build understanding and connection, including video production, event and individual photography, and multimedia content.
- Oversee and govern the CPG photo and media library, establishing standards, workflows, and usage guidelines to ensure accessibility, quality, and brand alignment.
- Provides strategic direction and oversight across all digital assets to ensure a consistent and engaging experience
- Business owner and/or key stakeholder for various client and employee online services - websites, self-service portals, intranet, microsites, and associated services (e.g., email, sign-in), including ownership of CXi scores for online services and experiences
- Oversee publishing governance for website and intranet content in partnership with CCS Editorial, ensuring alignment between editorial strategy, design, and user experience.
- Own the delivery, optimization, and performance measurement of email communications, including tracking engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of benefits and client communications.
- Oversees process, production, and workflow for web and creative projects and deliverables
- Partner and collaborate with the CCS Editorial team to ensure web and content strategies are synergistic and governed effectively.
- Direct, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams across creative services, design, UX, and digital production-fostering a culture of strong design thinking, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

- Technology fluency, including AI literacy, with the ability to understand, evaluate, and guide the responsible application of digital and AIenabled tools in creative and user experience contexts
- Demonstrated career experience leading creative design and digital experience teams, with direct responsibility for visual systems, web design, and user experience outcomes
- Strong design sensibility, with the ability to evaluate creative work, provide actionable feedback, and uphold a high standard of visual and interaction quality
- Outstanding written and verbal communications
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Exemplary leadership, staff coaching, and team development skills with a strong executive presence
- Impeccable judgment and attention to detail
- Knowledge of best practices with current and emerging technologies, including AI, in online services, marketing communications, and creative operations, service delivery trends, usability, accessibility, and interface standards
- Ability to align on strategic vision and execute corporate goals and initiatives
- Ability to make broad-ranging and sound decisions with limited information and time
- Knowledge and understanding of CPG's lines of business, operations, and its products, programs, and services a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- MBA/post-graduate degree preferred. Combination or education and experience considered
- 10+ Years of relevant work experience, 5+ years of management experience
- Experience presenting to Executive-level (C-suite)

Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG's office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
