Production Supervisor Night Shift

Huntsman is seeking a Production Supervisor Night Shift supporting the AM Americas Division located in Rock Hill, SC. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Job Scope
The overall purpose of this role is to direct, organize, and oversee the day-to-day production of the plant, ensuring all processes operate in accordance with established safety, quality, and production standards while supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

In summary, as the Production Supervisor Night Shift, you will:

  • Drive ZERO Harm culture in the facility.

  • Update visual management boards and ensure proper communication of production activities.

  • Organize, direct, and oversee the timely completion of production functions as assigned.

  • Ensure processes are completed according to company standards and specifications.

  • Manage manpower efficiently and coordinate overtime scheduling as needed.

  • Complete required paperwork, reports, and maintain accurate production records.

  • Maintain consumable inventory levels and coordinate purchasing of necessary materials.

  • Adhere to production schedules based on plant forecasts.

  • Maintain plant housekeeping and ensure safe, orderly work areas.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards, meeting all deadlines.

  • Communicate concerns, identify problems, and propose solutions to leadership.

  • Attend required meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Supervise, train, and develop production operators.

  • Conduct incident investigations and update site databases.

  • Maintain downtime records and Workday information for payroll.

  • Ensure processes run at designated rates to meet quality and cost standards.

  • Maintain knowledge of all active production processes and analytical methods.

  • Promote effective communication between shifts to ensure continuity.

  • Submit work requests for equipment repairs and improvements.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost control ideas.

  • Manage employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, and training compliance.

  • Maintain production logbooks and ensure cross-department communication.

  • Coordinate staffing to maintain uninterrupted operations.

  • Support plant security and emergency coordination when required.

  • Implement waste disposal procedures and ensure compliance.

  • Conduct routine inspections as required.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing facility as a supervisor.

Skills and knowledge

  • Chemical manufacturing experience with increasing responsibilities, including supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels on a wide variety of topics.

  • Strong safety mindset with demonstrated commitment to company policies.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to remain positive and adaptable.

  • Ability to lead and succeed in a team environment.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing plant or similar environment.

  • SAP experience.

  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.

Working Environment

  • Work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment with exposure to industrial conditions.

  • Involvement with materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), requiring understanding of applicable procedures.

  • Participation in safety programs, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • May require acting as an emergency coordinator during off shifts.
