JOB SUMMARY:
The welder sets up, adjusts and operates welding equipment to join various production materials both to
meet production specifications, and in accordance with welding requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Performs basic welding work, to specifications, as part of the manufacturing process.
* Performs set-up of welding equipment and safety devices in accordance with production documentation.
* Positions production materials and tooling and maintains proper dimensions according to print specifications.
* Properly adjusts and operates welder according to prescribed methods and procedures.
* Maintains equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
* Performs work in a timely manner to ensure production schedules are met.
* Ensures that products and systems meet Schroff quality specifications.
* Performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balance.
* Selects and moves production materials as required.
* Lifting/moving material up to 75 lbs.
* Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
* Notifies team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations,
materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
* Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
* May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
* Welding certificate, or equivalent experience, preferred
* Ability to read and write, in order to comply with written instructions and complete job-related paperwork.
* Two years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication facility and familiarity with metric blueprint
dimensioning preferred.
