Mandatory Position

| Primary Purpose of Position |
To supervise, maintain, clean, and provide floor care maintenance, creating sanitary conditions in classrooms, labs, lecture halls, offices, hallways, common areas, restrooms, and various other areas on the campus of
UNC Charlotte. |

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of a
GED, and one (1) year of experience in the area assigned; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

| Essential Job Duties |
The University of North Carolina Charlotte Facilities Management department is seeking an outgoing motivated person to join our staff as a Building Environmental Services Supervisor (
BES).
Duties Include:
- Providing supervision for multiple cleaning teams in performance of duties in academic, administrative and athletic facilities.
- Assigning and scheduling work; establishing individual workloads and assigning personnel to specific work areas.
- Training, counseling and evaluating performance of employees.
- Preparing personnel action memorandums; interviewing and recommending personnel for filling vacant positions.
- Approving leave and submitting time cards in the Kronos timekeeping system and providing absentee lists to supervisor.
- Maintaining equipment inventory and repair records; compile maintenance checklist and report needs to the supervisor.
- Performing daily inspections and correcting deficiencies.
- Testing and making recommendations on supply and equipment purchases.
- Working closely with leadership on hiring applicants in BES 003 pool.

| Other Work Responsibilities |
- Enforcing established Facilities Management, UNC Charlotte, and state policies and procedures.
- Demonstrating proper use of and instructing team members in the proper use and care of all manual and power equipment and chemicals required in floor maintenance, custodial, recycling, event support, and exterior litter removal functions.
- Performing other duties as assigned and/or delegated to support all operations.
- Performing other related duties as assigned and/or delegated.

- Supervisory experience
- Ability to effectively communicate (reading, writing, interpretation and comprehension) required.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; proficient in Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel; adaptable and eager to learn new programs and technologies.
- Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds and foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.

Where applicable, must be eligible for required certification.
Valid driver's license required. The Building Environmental Supervisor operates assigned vehicles on and/or off campus and is required to possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver's license upon appointment to the position. |
