The Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to serve as the critical link between Project Management and Engineering, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects through effective technical leadership and coordination. The ideal candidate will combine strong engineering expertise with project management capabilities, functioning as an assistant project manager while providing technical oversight and guidance to multidisciplinary teams. This role is responsible for ensuring engineering work aligns with project plans, facilitating design interpretation, developing technical and functional solutions to meet strategic project objectives, and leveraging internal and external resources, policies, and procedures to achieve project success. The Senior Project Engineer may also serve as Proposal Manager for small to medium-sized projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Scope Management - Clearly defines scope and compliance with requirements of the contract. Effectively manages change control process application, project interfaces, including use of High Value Engineering Centers.

  • Design Management - Sets clear objectives for the design team. Ensures design team is aware of and complies with client's Basis of Design and applicable regulations and codes. Monitors design activities, inter-discipline data flow and communications.

  • Team Management - Provides clear and focused leadership for the project team to create a vision for project success and a strategy to fit that vision. Focuses on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives. Provides mentoring and participates in staff performance evaluations.

  • HSE Management - Ensures compliance with all HSE procedures and that that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants.

  • Quality Management - Defines the project quality requirements. Ensures the right systems are in place and applied on the project. Develops a project schedule which allows work to be executed in logical sequences. Ensures compliance with Worley policies and procedures.

  • Communications Management - Ongoing monitoring of the communication network between project staff, the client and third parties and introduction of changes where required.

  • Risk Management - Identifies project risks and opportunities. Monitors closure of all identified risks and opportunities.


What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • 12+ years of project engineering experience, including at least 10 years in supervisory, project management, or technical leadership roles. Experience with workshare environments and engineering (E) or engineering/procurement (EP) project delivery models.

  • Demonstrated ability to support team members and troubleshoot technical or project-related issues. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. Skilled in organizing information from multiple sources in accordance with company standards and policies.

  • Capable of making independent decisions and setting priorities in complex situations, while considering cost and schedule impacts based on established project guidelines.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with professional registration in the applicable local jurisdiction.
